11/15:Our trip to Philipsburg Manor was amazing. We visited a simulated "Colonial" working garden and barn, learned how they cleaned, carded and spun wool, for all of their clothing. We visited the grist mill and learned how they progressed from a handheld motar and pestle to a water driven grist mill. We walked through the family home. Most of us agreed that things are a lot more easy now-a-days!

11/2:Today "Magnet Man" came to our class to teach us about magnets. We did many different experiments using magnets. We learned about the north and South Poles of a magnet, how they attract or repel one another and what objects magnets can work through. Julian even got picked up by an electro-magnet! We used iron files to demonstrate a magnetic field and even had some fun with "dancing magnets".
Ask your child to share their favorite magnet experiment with you!
